Bigger Bunches, Healthier Vines.
Proven in the Field.

A three-year trial across Gisborne vineyards showed AgriSea-treated vines produced heavier grape bunches, stayed greener longer, and looked visibly healthier — with an average 11.1% increase in bunch weight.

What Growers Saw in the Vineyard

Over three years of observation trials on Duncan & Judy Smith's vineyard in the Waimata Valley, the results were visible before the data confirmed it — AgriSea-treated vines were greener, stayed healthier through to harvest, and produced fuller, heavier bunches.

To put numbers behind the observation, extensive scientific trials were then set up across four commercial vineyard blocks at two Patutahi properties.

"All four trials showed an increase in bunch weight — even though normal commercial pesticide and fertiliser applications were still being applied over the trial plots."

Heavier Bunches

Average 11.1% increase in bunch weight across all four trial blocks — more fruit from the same vines.

Greener, Healthier Canopy

Treated vines stayed greener up to and beyond harvest, suggesting improved nutrient uptake and vine resilience.

Works Alongside Existing Inputs

Results achieved even with standard commercial pesticides and fertilisers still being applied to trial plots.

Both Red & White Varieties

Positive results across Merlot and Chardonnay blocks — not variety-specific.

The Results: Bunch Weight by Trial

A random sample of 50 bunches per treatment were weighed at harvest. Every trial showed the AgriSea-treated vines outperformed the control.

How It Was Applied

A simple two-product programme applied with a knapsack sprayer — no specialist equipment needed.

Soil Nutrition

AgriSea Soil Nutrition at 5L/ha, applied in spring and autumn

Foliar Spray

AgriSea Foliar at 1:200 dilution, from shoot emergence then every 3 weeks to harvest

Assessment

Soil analysis in mid-winter plus 50-bunch random harvest samples per treatment

"It is very difficult to build up beneficial soil microbes when commercial pesticides and artificial fertilisers are still being applied — yet the AgriSea-treated vines still showed clear improvement across every trial."
